Indonesian Runners Team In New York Marathon Supporting Enterprise

Jakarta, October 9, 2011 – Today, Indonesian runners’ team will take part at the New York Marathon on November 6, starting off training by running with the route Senayan-Monas-Senayan. In next November, a team of Indonesian runners consisting of 22 runners like Sandiaga S. Uno, Dino Patti Djalal, Anindya N. Bakrie, Diono Nurjadin and other young professionals support the program Berlari Untuk Berbagi (BUB) initiated by Sandiaga S. Uno since 2009.

Having previously participated in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon in July 2011, for the fourth time young businessman fondly called Sandi raised funds to be donated to foundations, including Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB) or Cinta Anak Bangsa Foundation through 'Berlari Untuk Berbagi.” In upcoming November, Sandi will double the donation (matching funds) amounted to IDR 40 million which given by donor to become IDR 80 million per kilometer to go the selected foundations.

With this matching funds system, BUB with YCAB hope to raise funds with a target of $4 billion, which is used as a revolving fund social investment (perpetual social investment) through economic empowerment programs underprivileged mothers. The empowerment program will be implemented in the community (cluster) appointed by BUB and will become a guided community that the advancement and improvement of welfare will also be under supervision.  One guided cluster will empower 2,100 women entrepreneurs (micro entrepreneur) and finance the Learning House which can accommodate 250 youth and underprivileged school dropouts to obtain education opportunities.
